As of November 1st, the Hotel Castillo is open and welcoming tourists worldwide. Travel from the United States is no longer restricted based on state of residence, and coronavirus testing is NO longer required for travel to Costa Rica. At this time, our sister property the Hotel Amistad remains closed.
Travel Requirements
In order to travel, tourists must purchase a round trip flight, and meet the following requirements.
- Complete a digital Health Pass on the website of Ministry of Health, prior to travel.
- Purchase a travel insurance policy that covers accommodation in case of quarantine and medical expenses due to COVID-19 with Sagicor or INS.
COVID-19 Testing for Return Flights
As of January 26th, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control is requiring a covid-19 test before returning. At Hotel Castillo we will arrange for the authorized test to be done on site and provide results within 24 hours. The cost is $95 and you should let reception know two days prior to your departure so we can set up a time at the hotel. For our all-inclusive guests who stay four nights or more, we will cover 50% of the cost of this test.
Safety Restrictions
Effective for the month of January, the bar and restaurant is limited to 25 percent capacity and reduced hours.
